The wenge wood pipa has that beautifull wood grain, as described. The pipa is carefully carved, i found no imperfections or sharp edges or cracks. My model also had those bone insertions with traditional motives, really makes it look special. The pipa is surprisingly hefty, that single large back piece of wenge had that pleasing weight behind it. Paulovina soundboard is really nice to touch, and the pipa has a great resonance to it. I found it easy to use the tuning pegs, and the tuning of the soundboard was on point. The provided hard case is of nice quality, and the provided nails/tape/strings are also made it easy for me to start playing. The shipping time took 2 month to Norway, and got me worried a bit. But it arrived in top-notch condition. I had several Turkish lutes before, this pipa definitely takes the quality up a good notch. Overall I think the price/quality ratio here i really hard to beat, I am happy with this long-waited purchase!
