The guqin is a traditional Chinese seven‑stringed zither, over 3,000 years old and beloved by scholars and philosophers. Unlike brighter instruments, it produces a soft, meditative, and subtly harmonic tone, with a wide range of sliding pitches and overtones. It was historically played for self‑cultivation and introspection, not public performance, and is closely tied to Confucian and Daoist ideals. In 2003, UNESCO declared it a Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity.

Teacher - Mr. Duan Hailei
Duan Hailei（段海磊）  began his guqin studies in 2012 under Ms. Li Xuecui（李学翠）, a young inheritor of the Jinling (Nanjing) school of guqin playing. In late 2014, he started learning from the renowned guqin performer Mr. Ge Yong（葛勇）. He also traveled to Shanghai to seek guidance from the distinguished guqin player Mr. Tang Bin（唐彬）, and later attended masterclasses taught by the celebrated guqin master Mr. Gong Yi（龚一）.
